Thought I'd Share...

These two blogs that I have come across. These are two amazing, (for lack of better word)women. Who are also mothers and wives, but most importantly Christians. Their stories are truly inspiring and a tremendous witness to Christ's love and his unending mercy.

The first is Katherine Wolf's blog at Forgive me if the details aren't completely accurate, but a little over a year ago at the age of 26 she suffered an AVM (arterial venous malformation---very rare, but probably congenital) rupture. You will have to read her story, because the fact that she is still here is unbelievable...her husband happened to come home during lunch when it happened, it took a 16 hour emergency surgery to save her life. Her son was 6 months when it happened. Now she is in the process of healing, many cranial nerves were damaged. They are out in CA, but actually have MS and AL ties! I could go on and on, but just click and go read for yourself!

The second is Stephanie Neilson's blog at It was actually recommended by Katherine. She was already a blogger before the accident and then a year ago her husband and her were in a small plane crash. She was badly burned and in a coma for like 3 months. She has 4 kids. She is very vintage and I love her writing style. She just recently put the first picture of her up since her accident. I recommend starting (by annoyingly scrolling down and clicking older post over and over until you get to about a year ago) towards the beginning. But you don't have to go to the weird extremes as I do to appreciate!

Both of their husbands are also worth mentioning as they are just as amazing as their wives. Steadfastly standing beside their wives as they fight for their life and then continue to go through the daily struggles of healing. Both blogs are truly love stories.

Be might lose a tear or two!

I wanted to follow that last OLD post with something more age appropriate, ha ha!!

A week or so ago on Friday we went to see The Old Crow Medicine Show at the World's Fair Park here in Knoxville. We had a great time, and although my favorite music is country and the top 100 (embarrassing I know)...I left with my soul feeling happy.

These were some "noodlers" they didn't stop moving the whole show--I think they were younger than us!
Hope everyone has a good week!

Our Front Porch

Slowly but day..... we will have a beautifully landscaped yard.

After we got the trees cut down and the "woods" no longer hide our house, the front porch was glaringly empty! This was a simple fix which involved no grass growing, pipes, rocks, digging, etc. And I loved how it turned out. I also love having rocking chairs outside to sit and watch Smoky instead of sitting on the steps. As you can see the trench is still there, arghhh.

Side Note: My mom always had ferns on our front porch growing up and for some reason I just did not like them. I always thought they were ugly and said I would never have ferns when I grow up.....and, as you can see, I have ferns....and I'm liking them.....scary!!

The Back deck....

I put up a bird feeder, right out my kitchen window and within one day I had my first visitor

I also have some more friends that are enjoying(both seem to be getting along together)...

Poor Pup

Smoke is not feeling so good today after his surgery (which was yest.)....he's pretty mopey. I think the worst part is the cone. I cried, because I really think he is mad at me for what happened! Hopefully, it is just the anesthesia and pain pill I gave him. Have you ever seen such a pitiful pup? Sad.

about 1400 miles later

I just got back last night from Mississippi!! I spent the first night (last Friday) in Birmingham with Erin...who is newly engaged, by the way! So fun!! Then headed to Meridian on Saturday and hung out with Jules (best friend award...she drove to Meridian from Jackson....had not seen her since my wedding)! Also got to spend time with Dad, Jill, Lil Lowry, Joyce and Neva before heading to Newton, MS to meet my Mom, aunts and grandmother for a wedding. We didn't stay long at the reception and headed to Philadelphia for a little gambling!! Unfortunately, I didn't win a million or even forty dollars.

We spent the night at the casino and then went to Hattiesburg, Sunday-Wednesday, then I made the 71/2 hour trip back to my home and hubby.

It was such a wonderful trip and so good to see everyone. I was a little homesick, considering its been since Christmas since I had been back. I'm cured now, but definitely don't need to go that long again without some family time.

Other news on the home front....
I got my first ever ticket-----some camera caught me running a red light a couple weeks ago (it was one of those, hit the gas kind of things). And I know exactly when it happened, can't deny it. I'm just hoping two more don't come in the mail, because I know the same thing happened two other times the same day. I don't think the ticket goes on your record, but I'll have to investigate (like I's my first ever ticket).

We got some trees cut down today in our yard, hopefully we can do a little landscaping this weekend...because our house is looking a little shabby with no "woods" in front.

Anyways, good to be home and sleep in my bed. More posts to come, once I get caught up on some sleep, cleaning and laundry!!
