"Snowfield" Road 2010

We have spent the weekend bunkered up in the house...or neighbors' houses....or all bundled up searching for the best sledding hill enjoying the 2 inches of snow and ice we got Friday night.

I love our neighborhood and neighbors (that is a whole separate post in itself). Anyway, we like to take andvantage of every opportunity to get together and hang out. So, when forcasters began predicting a "winter storm"....what better excuse?! Please enjoy the email that circulated starting around 10:30a Friday...

Hey neighbors!
If we get snow this weekend and it sticks on roads (as predicted-- but you never know with Knoxville weather) Erinn and I went home and got our "radio flyer" sleds. We should all go out and play and have some beers and hot drinks tomorrow in the 'hood. Elliot and Mary Carlyle would love to be bundled up and build snow men I'm sure. Just sounded neighborly. Dixie will play in the snow too. It kinda freaks her out at first and then she loves it.

Enjoy Friday.

I think that is a great idea. Unfortunately Colleen and I are trying to split out of town for the weekend. If Tyson McGee is snowed in then you can count us in for Snowfield 2010.

Sounds great, but Meg and I have invited 170 people to a kegger at the Martins' this weekend. Of course, if McGee Tyson shuts down, we'll have to make alternate arrangements. Also, I intend to be drunk and "playing" on Fairfield regardless of weather conditions. David
I am invisioning a prelude to the winter olympics this weekend..."hood style. Loving the "Snowfield 2010" name. We must make t-shirts. Events like, snowball fighting, 40 yd skate, homemade icecream eating contests ect. Open to all ideas. I was excited to see David and Meg already invited 170 ppl to the Martin's...a good crowd to watch me be victorious in the radio flier sledding competition!

Did you know that we recently moved to 809 Fairfield Rd? Our do is always open no pants required. Chad
and if we get ice instead we can have pairs figure skating. extra points for the tightest pants. Chris

Without further adieu....a few pictures (they are definitely not the best, but will serve as great reminders in 30+ years!)....

For the Record!

I just want to document the fact: that for the year of 2009

According to numbers...

I, Ramey Hardin, am the TOP BREADWINNER of our family

By a whopping $286.82

Now this by no means reflects how hard one or the other works. In fact, the above fact is really quite amusing.

To put things into a "little" perspective...
I work on average 32 hrs a week/4days (scheduling, talking to insurance companies...oh the joys of a clinic nurse!!)
Brent averages 65 hours a week/5.5 days a week (saving lives, curing cancer)

Honesty Award

Rules for the award:
1. Must thank the person who gave you the award and list their blog and link it.
2. Share "10 Honest things" about yourself.
3. Present this award to others whose blogs you find brilliant in content and/or design, or those who have encouraged you.
4. Tell those people they've been awarded HONEST SCRAP and inform them of these guidelines in receiving the award.

1. I think I've become addicted to this blogging thing. Do they make rehab programs for people like me.

2. Does anyone else feel the need to sing after every American Idol audition? I do.

3. Brent thinks I can sing pretty good.....for anyone that knows me, that's true love!!

3. Still have not joined a church, just keep "visiting." We will be joining a church in 2010...definitely a void there right now.

4. I love McDonald's. I would rather have a hamburger from there than somewhere like Ruth Chris. You can't beat that thin, greasy pattie.

5. I would love to adopt one day.

6. As a child of divorce, let me just say "IT SUCKS"

7. I have never wanted to run a marathon!

8. I miss the excitment of the ER, starting IVs, giving meds, IM injections, arterial sticks, constantly learning (life and death stuff), foleys....I love putting these that weird?!

9. I don't miss working every other weekend, the "frequent flyers," 12 hour shifts, working holidays, cleaning poo, and putting people on bed pans...and then getting them off is the worst part!

10. I went to the dentist today and I had a cavity...gasp! I hate going to the dentist, now I have to go back in 3 weeks......aghhh!

Okay, so now I present this award to

Jennifer Mitchell

Bad Dog!!

I have several things I've been wanting to share and document....

Things like:
Accepting my Honesty Award from Jill!! That's right, I got my first blog award...haha!
Something on my wishlist
my new project
and after this weekend....
Julie and Chris' wedding in Meridian!!

Smoky has chewed through the power cord to my laptop...and therefore it will not charge. I don't know what to do....surely you can buy another one of these, right????? But, as of now there is no end in sight to this dilemma.

Thank goodness for my Iphone, so at least I have been able to keep up with other people's blogs from home!! But, boy do I miss my BIG screen laptop!

Just wanted to sneak a quick little blog on here, JUST BECAUSE I'm sure everyone was worried!!

Blowing Rock, NC

We spent the first weekend of 2010 in Blowing Rock, North Carolina with our friends and neighbors, Peter and Allison (Peter's family has a vacation home there, which is only about 45 minutes from where he and Allison grew up). It's three hours from Knoxville. We had a blast and enjoyed this little mountain town so much! It was seven degrees there at night and on average about eleven during the day. I'm talking cold and I absolutely loved did Brent...and so did Smoky(he got to play with Cooper the whole weekend). We did a little shopping, a lot of eating...and drinking, watched a lot of football (Hotty Toddy), relaxed by the fire and played scatagories! Thanks Peter and Allison for having us. It was definitely a treat!!

Happy New Year

I have a feeling this is going to be a good year. We ate our black-eyed peas and greens. Along with one of my favorites....a chocolate martini!!
