Westwood Fall Picnic

I'm sure I haven't mentioned this before, but WE LOVE OUR NEIGHBORHOOD!!
It reminds me of the one I grew up in:  where everybody knows everybody and people are always out on the street or in their yards.

If it weren't for our neighborhood we wouldn't have any friends!!  Funny, but I'm not joking!  It was a PURE BLESSING that we happened to pick a certain house in a certain neighborhood.  Knowing what I know now...I would have gladly paid $75,000 more for our little ole house (this is by no means putting a dollar value on our friends...because they are priceless...but you get the idea)!

In other news...

(you know, besides baby)

Brent's parents came up the other weekend and we had a great time.

Me and Mrs. Hardin worked our tails off (her a lot more then me) and finally got our front flower beds planted.  For the last year (since we planted our grass) our beds have been butt naked,  but now they look so much better!!

And while we worked....the boys played.

Dr. Hardin spent some time with my Dr. Hardin in the operating room and on Saturday they went fly fishing on the Clinch River.

Brent and I are also in the process of joining Westminster Presbyterian Church here in Knoxville...just in time for baby.  I mean, this was a necessity....before bringing our baby into this world.  Until now we have just been visiting different churches....which by the way, is a bad habit to get into.  Anyway, I am so excited to finally be part of a church family again.  It's been waaaay to long.  And this Sunday kicks off a new Young Families Sunday school class that will be studying the book, Boundaries in Marriage.  I can't wait to get started!  I picked up a copy for us today at the church office.  I'll let you know how it is.

It's a ...

healthy baby BOY!!

Honestly, Brent and I couldn't be more excited.

Growing up, I always pictured myself having boys.  I have just always felt that I would be a better boy mommy.  I was a tomboy growing up---I enjoyed playing in the woods, building forts, sports, etc..  Bows, barbies, dresses, dance just aren't really my thing.

However, I had convinced myself (and Brent) that we were having a little girl and that she would most likely love all things pink.  AND...I was actually okay really excited about the prospect of having a sweet little girl.  In fact, both Brent and I would love a daughter at some point now.

So, when the ultrasound tech said BOY...we were both a little shocked (in a good way).  Could have quite possibly been the happiest day of Brent's life!!  We are both on cloud nine!!  Before finding out the sex of the baby yesterday...this pregnancy really hadn't sunk in (I haven't gained any weight and feel fine)...but in the mere 24+ hours since finding out--it feels that my love has grown tenfold for this tiny baby little boy growing inside me!

I'm looking forward to sitting at ball fields, playing in the mud, hunting insects, and all things little boy!  Granted if he wants to play the piano, take dance...I will fully support that too (and so will Brent, it will just take a little more time, but I guarantee he will come around).
