im(patiently) waiting...

39 weeks
(clever title, huh)

I'm really hoping this is going to be my last post before the big day.  People had warned me that the last two weeks go by the slowest----and I'm here to say that is very true!  Honestly, I'm not too uncomfortable.  I am just ready to hold this sweet boy in my arms and see who he looks like.  Until then I am trying to savor this last part of pregnancy (I truly am in awe of our God and the miracle of pregnancy) and sleep!

Some things I'm looking forward to after having a baby/s..
**The return of Santa Claus
**watching cartoons again
**I don't have to be on our Christmas card anymore
**Trip to Disney World
**an excuse to get dirty and play in the rain
**monogrammed clothes
**bath time
**footed pjs
**snuggling in the bed as a family on Saturday mornings (or any morning)
**watching Brent as a daddy

I'll leave you with some pictures of the nursery

We finally decided

on a name...

Hampton James Hardin

and we'll call him Hampton!

Hampton is just a name that we both like.  It means "from the river meadow" or "little town."
James is after Brent's dad and Granddad.

37wks3days

And his first monograms.  Can I get an "awe!"

So, besides freaking out about not having a daycare yet...I was just informed yesterday that people interview different pediatricians before choosing one.  Ummm...oops, running out of time.  Poor Little Hampton, he's just going to get the first doctor that will accept him (based on friend's recommendations) and then we can always switch if I don't like him/her.  Good plan, huh?!

By the way, I'm thinking he will be here by the end of next week!?!?!

It's my BIRTH(ing) month!

Today I am 37 weeks and considered "full term."
Wahoo!!

I honestly can't believe it.
I had an appointment last Tuesday.  Everything looked good.  I have gained 30lbs.  My blood pressure 98/56.  Baby's heart rate was around 140 (even though I can tell the nurse just picks a number in the middle because she always says "it's jumping around").  The doc also tested me for Group B Strep and "checked" me.  She said my cervix was softening and I was 1cm dilated on the outside and a fingertip on the inside....and she could feel the baby's head "just a little" (that is crazy to me).  Basically, everything is on track and my body is preparing to have a baby.  She also casually mentioned that she was going to Germany 3 days after my due date.  Say what?!?  However, she was not the least bit worried because she thinks I will definitely have him by then....Wahoo!!  I now go to the Doctor once a week.

I forgot to mention at my appointment two weeks ago they did an ultrasound and he was weighing 5lbs 9oz so an estimated 7-7.5lb baby when all is said and done.  I'm thinking closer to the 7lb range.  We didn't get any good pictures though.

I can't believe we are so close.  On one hand, it feels like it has taken forever to get here and on the other it feels like it has flown by.....it's weird.  Now, I just can't wait to meet him.  For all my family's sake, I'm trying to have this baby on Spring Break...which would be the week of March 14th!  Sounds good to me!!  I've started walking everyday in hopes of bringing about labor.

Until then I will just keep waiting and gestating....
