30 Weeks

and this next picture pretty much sums up the last two weeks...

On a positive note....I'm also starting to have nesting urges!  I organized and packed away all of Hampton's Newborn through 12 months stuff.....and actually no tears were shed.  However, I was secretly hoping we would have another boy one day so we could use all those cute clothes again.....although I think that was more of the cheap side of me coming out, not the sentimental, Ha!

It was LOUD...

but oh so fun!

My Little (who is way bigger than me) brother and his family came to visit a few weeks back....with my Mom.  We had a great time.  Although it was a rainy couple of days we made the most of it...and this pregnant lady was just happy it wasn't 107 degrees outside.  We went to the bounce house one day (no pictures), went to the aquarium in Gatlinburg the next, and the zoo on Saturday...throw in some Mexican and Pizza and that about sums up their trip to Knoxville!  Oh yeah, did I mention the Rush family is loud and our house isn't very big :-)  It didn't help that the favorite toy of the week was Hampton's lawn mower!

I just love that Hampton has cousins around his age to grow up with (on both sides).   I foresee many sleepovers, fun and memories made.  Along with, of course, some t.r.o.u.b.l.e!  I know, some of my fondest memories include my cousins!  It makes me sad that we don't get to see them that often because we are so far away....but it also makes these trips that much more special, and we are looking forward to being much closer next year and getting to spend lots more time with the cousins.

Hampton (16mths), Lake (2 years), Lexi (5 years)

Of course, you have to have the cousin "bath tub picture"

You add the caption :-)

Love these pictures of Nina and the boys.
Mom, you'll be getting this one in a frame!

27 weeks

Everything was looking good at my 27 week appointment!

Baby's heart rate was 135.  My blood pressure was 90/60.

Weight gain:  17 lbs.

Maternity clothes:  Yes.

Sleep:  I have actually had some allergy/sinus/cold stuff going on for the last week,  so sleep has not been so great between the coughing and stuffy nose.  It is much worse at night---during the day I feel fine.  I actually took some benedryl the last couple of nights....although I couldn't tell that it helped much.  I think I'm finally on the mend.

Movement:  Yes, and now I can feel little body parts protruding.

Food Cravings:  Sweets, Sweets, Sweets and Milkshakes.  Thankfully, I passed my glucose test....so keep the cake a coming :-)

What I miss:  Being 100% well.

Weird Moment:  I'm not sure if I ever shared, but after Hampton was born I had this reoccurring "nightmare" that Hampton had fallen asleep in our bed and I would "forget."  Anyway, so I would wake up in a panic throwing off all the covers and pillows searching for him.  Argh, it was a horrible feeling and when I would finally wake up enough to realize what I was doing I would know to look over and there he was safe and sound in the pack n play or I would have to click on the video monitor and see him in his crib.   This went on for at least two months/two times a week.....Nuts, right?!  I blamed it on the sleep deprivation and hormones (you know, the crazy new mom ones)......until the other night, I woke up from a dream that I had been throwing off the covers and pillows searching for TWO babies and obviously I could only find one because the other was still in my stomach.  The only difference was that this time I wasn't physically digging through the bed searching it was all done in my dream.

I've had this dream twice now.

Needless to say, I'm not a fan of co-sleeping because I'm a nervous wreck thinking they might suffocate....and I'm scared to death to think of what crazy, sleep deprived, hormonal things are going to come after baby girl arrives dealing with two kids!

Now that everyone officially thinks I'm a crazy, lunatic..... lets end on a

Funny Moment:  Hampton has now referred to my stomach as a "ball" three times.

I can't believe we are already in the third trimester.  Tomorrow I will actually be 29 weeks (it has taken me two weeks to finish this post...but the above info is true to 27 weeks....As of today I am 99% well, unfortunately I think Hampton may be coming down with a touch of something)  This pregnancy really is flying by.  Have a great week!

My Little Blue-eyed Boy (at 15.5 months)

Height:  30.5in  (25th%)
Weight:  23lbs (25%)
Head Circ.:  18.8in (55%)

At 15.5 months...

--You are a great sleeper.  On average about 8p-8a.  Either take one 2 hour nap (around 1230ish) or two 1.5 hour naps everyday (11ish and 345ish).  If you only take one nap a day I put you to bed around 730ish, but if you take two you stay up till about 9ish.  If I know we have plans that night I definitely put you down for that second nap!

--Still don't say too many words.  Mama (I have to say this is the sweetest sound in the world), Dada, Ball, Car, This, trash, ta-ta for thank you (although recently you won't say it for me).  That's about it. You do a lot of pointing and will lead us to whatever you want.

--You are a Mama's boy!  I love it.

--Will give kisses and hugs now (if you feel like it).

--You love Balls and in your little world every round object is a ball.  It could be a street light, balloon, tomato, whatever.  Its become a game for your dad and me to guess what you see that is a "ball."  I'll ask Brent...."Do you see a ball?"   The other night at a restaurant it was the top of a coat rack.

--You also love dogs, shoes and of course Mickey Mouse.

--You eat 3 meals a day and a lot of snacks.  You still love yogurt and bananas.  Recently we've found that you love black beans and also love to snack on a whole apple.  Love milk.  I'm so glad we gave up the bottle when we did....it was so easy (easier for you than me).

--Likes to throw balls/things (Brent has encouraged this and I'm thinking we might regret it), climb, slide and can pretty much run.  Also, you like to read books point to things in books and turn the pages.

--Definitely don't like the word no and can throw a fit!

--Discipline....We are to the point where you need it (really this started around 13.5-14 mths), but I don't think you get "time-out" and I don't like the thought/idea of spanking you.  However, you have had several your share of spankings and time outs.  I'm such a sucker.  I have to remind myself that besides love, discipline is one of the next greatest gifts I can give you :-)  I want, more than anything, for you to be safe and also a well-behaved, kind, thoughtful and respectful person.  I even bought The Happiest Toddler on the Block book, but I have to say I don't really like it at all...it was a waste.

-- Size 4 diaper.  12-18 month clothes.  Some 24 months shirts.  Size 5 shoe.

I know there are so many more things I want to remember about this age (like the way you squish up your nose and breathe really heavy and loud when you get excited or to copy me....your dad actually asked me to stop doing this with you because it looks silly, but I can't because its so stinking cute.  I also think your "yelling" is cute so I will "yell" back and your dad requests I stop that too :-)  We are now working on whispering!  I wish I could just bottle this time up.

I am so thankful for this blog to remind me of things.  In the moment, you think that you will always remember...But, just looking back on Hampton's first year through the blog has reminded me of so much.  I can only imagine in 10 years.  Good Lordy, I can't even think about it!

Hope everyone is having a great week.  I've got to go clean up for Hampton's Nina, Uncle Lowry, Aunt Kayla and cousins, Lexi and Lake who get here tonight.  So excited!

We've been doing lots of celebrating around here....

We celebrated (or Roasted) Adam back in June as he completed his Urology residency with the traditional dinner and "movies" at Cherokee Country Club.

We celebrated the 4th of July in the neighborhood at the Tapps.

And yesterday, we celebrated THE NEW CHIEF  (Yours Truly, Brent M. Hardin, M.D) with a little boating and dinner, compliments of Dr. and Mrs. Hatcher.

Love my boys :-)
