3 Weeks

as of 10/25/12

Weight:  8lbs 11.5 oz
Length:  20.75 in
Head Circ.: 14.5 in
(everything is in the 50-75th %)

At 3 weeks old...
**Newborn diapers although after this pack we will be moving to ones.
**Mostly newborn clothes and some 0-3 mth.
**Eating 3-3.5 oz (pumped breast milk) every 3-4 hours.
**Will sometimes sleep 4.5-5 hours at night.  Does not like to sleep flat on her back.  Prefers her side which is not good for this SIDS fearing Mama.  Also, loves to sleep on some one's chest.
**Can't decide if she likes the pacifier or not.
**Sometimes I swaddle her, sometimes I don't....I can't tell it makes a difference.
**Hates having her diaper changed.
**Loves her bath.  She is so peaceful.
**Blond hair (sometimes I see a hint of red).  Unsure what color eyes you will have.

Dear Anne Lowry,
I still can't believe that I have a daughter.  I feel like the luckiest person alive.  It has been so much fun adding pink to this house!  Your brother is finally coming around and even asks to hold you now.  You are such a good baby and very tolerate of all Hampton's loud noise and even getting toys thrown in your lap.  However, in general....I think you might be a bit higher maintenance than he was at this point (typical girl :-).   You are the perfect addition to our family and we are madly in love.
xoxo,
Mama

There is nothing sweeter than a newborn baby.....except, a newborn baby the second time around!

The First Two Weeks...

Coming home...

We got home around noon on Saturday (10/6).  I was so glad to see Hampton and have my family of FOUR all together!  However, poor Hampton did not feel good.  As soon as a gave him a hug I said, "He feels warm."  My mom agreed and it only went downhill from there.  I self diagnosed him with hand, foot and mouth disease (fever, hurt when he swallowed and rash).  The next two days were rough to say the least :-)  I was a nervous wreck Anne Lowry was going to catch this virus at three days old.  I was even making people change their shirts before holding her if they had held Hampton.  Yes, you can imagine all the fun we were having!  After two days, Hampton woke up completely fine and was back to his normal self.....well, his "new, after-baby" normal and things settled down a good bit.

Anne Lowry's newborn visit 10/8/12:
weight:  7lbs 11.5 oz
length:  19 3/4 in
head circumference: 14 in

We ended up having to go back for 2 more weight checks before they were finally confident that she was moving in the right direction.  For the record, I was never concerned (definitely the difference between a first and second kid)!

We were so sad to say goodbye to my mom and Tom after a week.....and scared :-)  We couldn't have made it without them.

Another baby adds A LOT more work!

Fortunately, Brent was able to take that next week off.  We did not do much, just a lot of house keeping things that Brent can never do during the week because of work.  Our one big outing was to the pumpkin patch.  I'll post those pictures later.

I didn't know my heart was capable of loving three people so much.  Yes, I am tired.  Yes, it feels like I'm always having to feed a baby, change a diaper, or remind Brent where he put his [fill in the blank], but I wouldn't trade this time for anything.

My cup is overflowing.

Hampton meets Anne Lowry

So, here is the super excited, proud, loving, new big brother!
One big, happy family.

HA!
I LOVE the above picture but boy is it deceiving!  In reality our photo shoot went like this...

Hampton wanted nothing to do with her....and still doesn't :-)

I had gone back and forth whether to even bring him to the hospital or not.  I know, some people were shocked that I would not bring him to the hospital to meet his sister and see where his mom went (ahem, Aunt Marcy), but he's 18 months old so I just figured he would never remember anyways.  I was so afraid he would see me and not want to leave, which would have broken my heart (remember, I had previously only spent 2 nights away from him his whole life and he's such a mama's boy).

Well, HA again!

When he walked in, he wouldn't even come to me.  Thankfully, I had some french fries to lure him into my lap :-)  He warmed up pretty quickly after that.  He probably stayed a good hour then he was ready to go.  And then my little Mama's boy said peace out without even a tear.  The thought of crying after he left crossed my mind, but only for a split second.  I honestly couldn't have been more proud.  It helped that his Nina and Chappy spoiled him rotten and he got to watch Mickey Mouse or any other cartoon EVERY TIME he asked :-)

39 weeks

excuse the hair...we had been walking in the rain!

I had my last OB appt. last Tuesday.  Next up, BABY!

Weight gain:  32 lbs. as of last Tuesday and I do not intend to step on another scale until my post partum visit!

Maternity clothes:  Yes.  Getting to be slim pickings to cover this belly up.

Sleep:  Insomnia, however, I'm really not that tired during the day.  I think my body is preparing me for NO sleep.

Movement:  It has definitely decreased a little.  More movement at night.

Food Cravings:  Appetite still has decreased.  Not really craving anything.   I don't think I've mentioned this but throughout this whole entire pregnancy...I have gone through about a gallon of milk every 5-7 days.....me alone, Brent doesn't drink milk.

So excited to meet this precious little one.  This past weekend was our last weekend as a family of three (yes, she will be here by the end of the week).  We didn't do much....went out to eat on Friday with some friends and hung out all day Saturday watching football.  Sunday, we went to early church and out to eat breakfast and Brent did yard work all day.  I am definitely in freak out nesting mode...but I feel like I'm making more of a mess than anything :-)

Can't believe the time has come!!
(and on one last side note---I'm so glad to have made it to October.  For some reason, I really wanted an October baby :-)
