Out-takes.

Enjoy the pictures as I ramble :-)

Christmas card pictures were an #epicfail this year!  In fact, I still do not have one.single.decent. picture of both my chickens together and I'm going to go ahead and take an educated guess that it is not going to happen anytime soon!

I am %100 done with my Christmas shopping.  My list was 35 people long this year...this included just family, not even teachers etc.  I think this is a first.  Usually I have at least one or two people I am still trying to pick something up for on Christmas Eve.  Go me!!  Most are even wrapped....I think I have about 5 left to wrap.

It has only taken two and a half months but I finally have gotten both Hampton and Anne Lowry on a good sleep schedule....as in Hampton goes to bed about 8 and wakes up about 730am (He's always gone to bed good but since Anne Lowry arrived he started waking up before 7 and for a while there 545).  Anne Lowry goes to bed about 930 and sleeps till 8ish.  She gets lots of praises in the morning time!  Speaking of sleep, do you know that since I've had Anne Lowry I've only taken like two maybe three true naps?  I think I'm still running on adrenaline since having her or maybe I just slept that poorly when I was pregnant with her....which I'm pretty sure is the real reason.

Of course, now that everyone is on a good schedule it's time go somewhere so I'm sure we'll have to start all over in January.  Totally worth it though, we are so excited to see our family back home in Mississippi.

Hampton is at such a fun age.  Seriously, he is a hoot.  Currently, as I am writing this he is climbing in the passenger side of his new car (the side that has no door).  I really wish I could understand everything he was saying.

I finally feel like I know Anne Lowry.   I can now tell the difference between her hungry, sleepy and bored cries.  A lot of that has to do with having her on a good schedule but the other half is just knowing her :-)  I'm totally smitten with her and feeling so blessed to have a daughter.

We've been getting serious about house hunting and doing a lot of looking on the internet.  Well, I've fallen in love with a house....like have already "moved in."  No, I haven't seen it in person, but I just have the feeling its our house.  Now, I'm trying to convince Brent!  I will seriously cry if its not available in a couple of months.

MERRY, MERRY!
Go hug on your loved ones.

Christmas Morning (at home-Knoxville)

12/15/12

Santa Claus stopped by early since he knew we wouldn't be home Christmas morning.  It was a lot of fun and Hampton's reaction did not disappoint.  He loves his new "car" and "ball" and hasn't stopped playing with them.  I am already looking forward to next year :-)

It was definitely a special weekend-- especially in light of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut on Friday.  Oh, my heart is just broken for the families of all the victims.  Literally, Saturday morning we did not watch the news at all....this Mama and Dada's heart just could not take it. Seriously, makes me nauseous.  I'm going to go hug my littles now...

Unquarintined

Cue the angels singing!

Brent has had the flu.  I know, poor thing.  He really did feel bad.  He came home from work last Saturday not feeling well....I chalked it up to a cold.  You all know guys are just not good sick people, right?!  Well, he went to work on Monday and tested positive for the flu.  Say what?  And yes, he did get the flu shot.  Anyway, I immediately called the pediatrician hoping they would offer me something that could protect my two little chickens from getting it.  Guess what?  They couldn't---but advised me to keep Brent away for FIVE days, Clorox, Lysol and hand washing.  I loved the part where she asked if we had any family in town :-)

After three days, the thought of being jealous of Brent having the flu actually crossed my mind.  Anyway, I started counting from Saturday....so we finally got Daddy back last night.

Enjoy the random pictures from last night...

I'm pretty sure this was right after he took a big gulp of bath water.  The kid likes to drink the water.  Gross, I know.

This is one of his favorite books and he loves to show you that the monkey hit his head by patting his head.
We tried to get a picture of Anne Lowry smiling...

She obviously didn't think we were that funny :-)

Well, the stockings are hung and we are anticipating Santa stopping by tonight.  I know its a little early but we worked out a deal with the jolly guy since we won't be here on Christmas morning.  Can't wait to post pictures.  Something tells me Hampton is going to love his presents :-)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Ho Ho Ho

Our Santa pictures this year were very underwhelming if you ask me....it was a similar experience to last year!  Hampton looked down and kept his hands in his face the whole entire time like he was shy or something.   I honestly would have rather him be scared to death of the jolly ole guy....at least that would have made for a funny picture!  I know, I'm a horrible mother :-)  Sweet, little girl was just along for the ride....as always.

I'm so excited to continue traditions from mine and Brent's childhoods and also add our own family traditions.

A new tradition I hope to have started this year was Operation Christmas Child--where you fill up a shoebox for a little girl or boy to be sent to another country.  I thought this would be a tradition that all of our kids could grow into and with.

We chose a little boy age 2-4.  Some things we included:  crayons, balls, matchbox cars, glow sticks, slinky, toothpaste/brush, notepads, socks, suckers and gum.  Next year we will choose a little boy and little girl (I did donate money for one in Anne Lowry's honor this year, but couldn't get it together enough to do two boxes because of the meltdowns that happened shortly after walking into Target :-)

Here is our packed box.  All was well until Hampton spotted the suckers.  I tried to explain that the suckers were not for him but for a little boy across the world that did not have suckers.

As you can see, this fell on deaf ears.

I went on to explain that God asks that we be JOYFUL givers.....then I let him have a sucker .  It made for a little more joy in his heart.

I'll consider it a little seed planted in his heart.

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 9:7 (NIV)

I'm so excited for my children to experience the joy and wonder of the Christmas season but more importantly to understand the reason we celebrate.

Anne Lowry -- 2 Months

STATS (12/7/12):

Weight:  11lbs 9.5ozs  (75%)
Length:  22.1in  (50%)
Head Circ:  15.8 in  (75%)

Dr. John did hear a heart murmur which he said not to worry about.  We will check it again at her 4 month check up.

(You know how at the beginning of these appointments you are suppose to undress your baby and make sure they have a dry diaper to go weigh them.  Well, I'm not sure what my children have against me but they always make sure to have poop in their diaper.  Seriously, Anne Lowry will go days without pooping and she decided to poop on the way to the doctor yesterday.  This still wasn't as bad as the very first time my mom and me took her for her newborn check.  Remember that Mom?  She was a pooping, peeing machine.  She managed to get her clothes and table wet within a 1 minute period.  We were taking so long the nurse came back to check on us!  Hampton used to do the same thing and I remember sweating uncontrollably.  With Anne Lowry I just get the giggles....Oh the joy of the second child)

--  Size 1 diaper
--  5oz (pumped breast milk) every 3-4 hours
--  you are a spitter upper but it doesn't seem to bother you.
-- Sleeping through the night.  Just last week you started sleeping from 1030p- 730 or even 830a.  Occasionally, you will wake up at 330 and take a bottle.  You are the PERFECT child!!
--  Starting to stay awake more during the day.  When you are awake you like to be held...especially during the hours of 6-10p.
--  Starting smiling about  6 weeks.  You are still a little stingy with them.
--  You have rolled over once from your stomach to back on your Dad's birthday (I forgot to tell him)!
--  0-3 and 3 mth clothes
--  Jury is still out on the paci.
--You prefer to be held over the shoulder.
--Just recently getting some baby acne.
--  not sure what is going on, but you go days without pooping.  After about 5 days I was starting to get worried, but you made up for it when you did go :-)
-- You love your car seat and riding in the car.
--  It seems for the past month you have had a little stuffy nose.  Luckily, I enjoy don't mind using the "nose sucker."  And we've been sleeping with a humidifier.  Having an October baby has definitely been different than March in regards to worrying about sicknesses and stuff.
We go on Friday for your 2 month check up and shots....then I will post your stats.

We are starting to see little glimpses of your personality which has been so fun.  We LOVE you more than you will ever know!

What do you think?  Does Anne Lowry look like her brother?
