It is currently snowing right now in Knoxville.  Yes, I said snowing!

However, despite the snow....I wanted to share what I found at Target yesterday.  I don't know about you, but I have the hardest time finding shorts.  Usually, if I actually find a pair that fit my waist they are either too short or too long.  Seriously, I only have 1 pair of "wearable" shorts in my wardrobe that are not gym shorts.  I'm so excited I decided to brave the dressing room with my two chickens and try on these.  (I noticed on Target's website that these shorts come in 3.5in and 5.5in....I apologize, but I cannot for the life of me figure out which one I got.  It is nowhere to be found on the tags.  I'm guessing I got the 3.5 because the 5.5 look really long.)
Don't you just love this minty color?!  I also got black.

Now, if only the weather would cooperate...

Happy Birthday, Hampton!

Friday, March 22nd, his actual birthday.

My plan was to document the whole day, however, when I got him out of bed that morning he was burning up with fever (101.5).   I just knew we were going to have to cancel his birthday party the next day.  So, I made an appointment with the pediatrician which revealed double ear infections....this was actually the best case scenario since ear infections aren't contagious!  Poor birthday boy :-(  He did not feel good.  Anyway, I tried my best to make it a good day for the whining sick birthday boy.  We watched lots of Disney Junior, he took a three hour nap and we drove through Sonic for a slush.  Bless his heart it wasn't a very good birthday.

Remember, I said he didn't like candles!

Saturday, March 23rd, Party Day!

He still wasn't 100% and a little on the touchy side but I think he had a really good time.  The Little Gym puts on a great birthday!

Sweet Girl

He was not thrilled when this was blowing up!

He loves to hang!

Happy, Happy Birthday, Hampton James!  You are such a blessing.  I'll refrain from being too sentimental and save that for his official 2 year old post!

Holy Smokes

Can't believe my {first} baby will be 2 tomorrow!

Right about this time....2 years ago, I was in the kitchen at work and my water broke {sort of}, hehe!

Checking In

I can't believe I haven't posted since Anne Lowry turned 5 months.

Brent had a Urology conference in Virginia last week so the chickens and I packed up and headed to Mississippi to visit my family for a few days.  It was a great visit...however, the trip down was horrid.  I vowed to never travel more than three hours by myself with both kids EVER AGAIN!  Nothing is worse then a crying baby in the back seat....especially when that baby won't even take a bottle when you stop.  Seriously, I think my blood pressure was 210/150 at times.  It was so bad I made my Mom come meet me in Meridian to ride the last hour and a half back to her house :-)  I was dreading the trip home and guess what....it was EASY (as easy as it can be with two littles) they were both perfect angels.  **I didn't take my camera :-(

Can't believe I will have a two year old in 3 days!  Cray-Cray!  We began the celebration this weekend and bless his heart he is a little afraid of the candle/flame.  So, we've been practicing.  I love this age!

I'm glad to report Operation Show'Um (Hampton) Who's Boss was a success!  He is back to sleeping in his own bed all night, every night.   Ahhh, I feel like a new person.  AL still wakes up occasionally, but like I said, I'm not ready to let her cry it out yet.

Let's see, what else is going on....

We've shown our house twice so far.  The first people wanted bigger bedrooms and the second person loved the house, but the driveway was too steep.  Nothing we can do about that!  It is making me a little nervous, but ideally we could stay here through June anyway.  We are set to close on our new home April 2nd. Being so far away and making such a big purchase is stressful....plus, the sellers are not being very considerate (in my opinion)!

Less than 100 days left of residency!

AL--5 Months

Where did our baby go?!  And I promise she does smile a lot....just not for our monthly sessions!

I feel like it has been a big month....so, let's see

--size 3 diaper.....4's work too.  You are a chunky monkey
--most 6 mth clothes are too small.  6-9 and 9 mths are more your thing.
--starting to sit up and are really "coordinated."  Meaning, I think you have really good control of your hands, arms and legs for just 5 months old
(I looked back at Hampton's 5 mth post and he had just found his toes!  Ha!  You, Miss Priss, are going to be the athlete of the family :-)
--eating about 7 oz every 3-4 hours.  Although, sometimes you just want 3 or 4.
--No teeth although I think you are teething
--Enjoying rice cereal.  No foods yet.
--rolls from back to front, likes to "stand"
--Loves to be facing outward in the baby Bjorn, the exersaucer and will tolerate tv for a little while.
--You've had a cold (along with your  brother and I) for the last week.  I think we are finally getting over it.  Babies with stuffy noses are pitiful :-(
--Pretty much sleeping through the night.  I was going to let you cry it out a little, but then you got sick and I'm just not ready yet.  I do want to document one night--not long ago--that you woke up at 12am and stayed up for FOUR hours and would scream if I put you down.  The only way I could put you down was in your rockandplay in the bathroom with the bath water running (and not just dripping).  I had to wake up your dad to hold you for a little while at one point so I could "regroup!"  Finally, at 4am I put you in the bathroom with the water running...crawled in bed.....and told your dad (who was worried about the water bill) that it was just as if we were using the sprinkler to water our yard.  I fell asleep and at some point he got up and turned the water off after you were asleep.

Anne Lowry, your little personality cracks me up and keeps me on my toes.  You are not nearly as laid back as your brother was.  And to be honest, there are times when your cry makes my blood pressure rise :-)  Just when I think I've got you figured out, you go and change things around.  I love you for it...I really do!  You have completely stolen my heart!

Happy 5 months, Baby Girl!
