Be Still My Heart

Hampton's first "program."  The sweetest, cutest little sheep I've ever seen.  At one point, I'm certain I heard him singing.  He did a few of the hand motions and even gave me a small wave back (my heart could have burst out of my chest :)  Then he stuck his hands in his pocket and that is where they stayed the rest of the time.  So proud!

Meeting Santa Claus

Hampton was so excited....

but when it came time to sit on his lap, he got a little shy.  Anne Lowry likes Santa, but the girl does not like mascots or anything of the such so I knew she was not going to be a fan of Santa in the flesh :)  She actually tolerated him better than I thought she would and didn't scream....she just sat frozen like this....

Then we decorated and ate cookies while Hampton chased two girls from his class :-)

Towards the end of the night....we tried again and it went a little better!

So what did they ask for?

Hampton is asking for a "pirate telescope" and a flute/recorder.

Anne Lowry is asking for a "pink car."

I think we got it pretty easy!  For a while every time I (or somebody else) asked them what they wanted Santa to bring them they asked for something different.  Usually what they had just seen on TV or played with at somebody else's house.   However, both have consistently asked for the above for several weeks straight.  I'm nervous they are going to start asking for something new two days before Christmas.  The only thing Santa lacks to get is the "pink car."  I persuaded her that she just wants a small pink car.

Trimming the Tree

Christmas Card Attempt #1

This was actually our easiest year yet trying to get a picture of the two of them together.  Do not misunderstand that for fun, just easier!

This first picture was our runner up!  I'm saving the winner for your mailbox :-)  Here's a hint, same outfit--different setting (although similar)--no tree!!

It is definitely the most wonderful, magical time of the year!  And this 3 and 2 year old make it a million times more....

(anybody else impressed with all this blogging besides me?!?)

Thanksgiving in Attala County

We enjoyed an early Thanksgiving at Brent's grandmother's house last weekend complete with shrimp and grits, yum!  As usual, I did not do a good job of taking pictures and wish I would have made everyone get a group picture....Oh well, I thought the few I got were pretty cute!

Brent is on call today and this weekend so we are enjoying a lazy morning watching the Macy's Thanksgiving parade and eating dry cereal on the couch.  Pretty dreamy if you ask me....except for the fact that Hampton just whacked Brent in the head with his bowl, so now Hampton is crying in his room (real life, folks)!  We will head over to the Flint's later today for a more traditional celebration.  Between now and then, I'm hoping we can put up our Christmas decorations.  My family arrives tomorrow for the Egg Bowl.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Operation Christmas Child

I cannot believe it is that time of year again to pack your shoebox.

I also can't believe this is our third year to participate.  Praying for the little boy and little girl who will receive these boxes....

Halloween 2014

Buzz and a Princess

What a fun holiday......especially for a little kid!!  Hampton and Anne Lowry had a blast.  Halloween has never really been my thing but I have promised myself that next year I was going to step it up a little bit :)  You know hang some bats on our wall, actually carve a pumpkin, and get costumes for Brent and myself!  I'm already excited about it!  Enjoy the pics...
