New York City

Nov. 11th - Nov. 15th

Brent and I snuck away to New York City for a few days last week.  It was sort of a babymoon (28wks), happy birthday to me, happy birthday to Brent, and Merry Christmas trip :-)  We had such a great time exploring and eating our way through the city.  Neither Brent nor I had ever been to New York before, so we tried to hit all the high/touristy points.  I would definitely say we succeeded and I'm pretty sure we were asleep by 1130 every night.
**The Friday night we were there was when the terrorist attacks in Paris took place.  I'm already a bit of a nervous traveler so you can just imagine....New York City was not exactly the place I would have chosen to be during all that, but we powered through.

Now for the pictures!

The Empire State Building was lit up for Veteran's Day

St Patrick's Cathedral...

Dinner at Scalinatella (One of our favorite dinners, authentic Italian)

World Trade Center Memorial/Museum

Exploring/Walking

Staten Island Ferry/Statue of Liberty

Looking back to Manhattan from Brooklyn.... This was before dinner at the River Cafe (another favorite, super fancy)

The Today Show (with the Rockettes and Al Roker was finishing Rokerthon)

Metropolitan Museum of Art

Central Park

Top of The Rock at Sunset...

Ice Skating at Rockefeller Center  (between my big ole belly and Brent's knee we opted out and just enjoyed people watching with Peppermint Mochas :)

no pictures, but the other things we did were Times Square, went to see Jersey Boys, The Rockettes Christmas Spectacular, a little shopping and more eating.  My other two favorite places to eat while we were there.... JG Melon (the original, forgot what street) for their famous hamburger and Sarabeth's for brunch.

So thankful for this getaway and uninterrupted time with Brent....I have a feeling between the holidays and going from 2 to 3 kids things are about to get a little crazy :-)  Bring it on!!

ShoeBox Week!

You have only got a couple more days to fill those boxes...

This is one of my favorite traditions.....I didn't take them shopping with me for the things to put inside of the box (I kind of ran out of time....and I also wasn't feeling up to dealing with the meltdowns of why they couldn't get a toy too :) but I did let them fill the boxes with the stuff I had picked out.  And, only a few tears were shed in the process.  I can tell they are starting to grasp the fact that not every kid is as fortunate as they are.

Please excuse the pictures this year....I tried on two separate occasions to get a decent picture but they were not feeling it.  I would not even include them in this blog post but it's kind of a tradition :-)

We started in 2012...

Hard to believe that next year we will have another little person in these pictures.

Looking forward to the holidays....starting with Thanksgiving.

Work, Work, Work....

For documentations sake...since this is in fact my children's "baby book."

Hampton's "work" from the first month of school.  I have to say that I am very impressed with what all he's learned in just a month.  I mean, he's writing his name and can tell you how to spell it!  We did not practice this before school.  He can recognize numbers 0-9 anywhere.  He also came home talking about what sound each letter makes.  The best part is that he is enjoying/loving school.  However, by Thursday and Friday he's not as excited about going but that is because he is TIRED!!  I pray he always has a love for learning.

This is his family
Right to Left: Mommy, Anne Lowry, Hampton, Wynn, Daddy
Love that he included Wynn :-)

**and now I must disclose....these are all probably in a landfill by now.  I'm not the mommy that saves everything!

And I have to brag a little bit to....
His teachers say he is the sweetest thing and in October he was his class' "Citizen of the Month" which is a pretty big deal.  We got to have a special lunch with him.

25/26/27 Weeks!

I am 27 weeks today, Hello Third trimester!

Absolutely crazy to think that this baby will be here in 13 weeks or less and with the holidays coming up....I know it will only seem to go faster.  I need the "nesting" urge to kick in soon :-)

Weight gain?  up 14lbs (at my 25 wk appt)

Maternity clothes? mostly.  still can squeeze into my gym clothes pretty comfortably too.

Sleep? Just in the last couple weeks I have started sleeping a lot better.  Am I the only person/Mom that LOVES time change?!

Movement? Yes, been feeling this one move for a while now.  Some days he/she moves a lot more than others.   One of my favorite things in the world!

Food cravings?  Any and everything :-)  Definitely, loving my SWEETS but also loving turkey sandwiches from Subway with lots of pickles and mashed potatoes :-)

What I miss?  Drinking all the coffee I want!  I am also starting to miss the occasional glass of wine....up until now I have not missed it at all, which in my other pregnancies I am pretty sure I was already missing it!

What I am looking forward to? Delivery Day and finding out if its a Boy or Girl, of course!!!  Also, really looking forward to our trip to New York next week!!

Other thoughts.  Just in the last couple weeks I have started feeling pretty good.  I wouldn't say awesome though.  This pregnancy has definitely been the hardest on me out of all three.  Overall, just more tired, uncomfortable and crampy if I do too much.  I'm sure a lot has to do with having a busy 4 and 3 year old while being pregnant, but I also think just being "older" (32) has a lot to do with it.  Seriously.

Here's our little bundle of love at 25 weeks...
Heart rate was 148

Halloween 2015

Started with some pumpkin carving....

Then some Trick or Treating on Sorority Row (Thurs. night)...

Then a hay ride around the neighborhood for more Trick or Treating (Friday night)...

No pictures from actual Halloween night (Sat.) but we had a great time hanging out with friends.  Sunday was spent coming down from our sugar highs and a little more superhero action :-)

It was a full, fun weekend!
