Our first season of Soccer!

As far as I can tell at age 6 and 4, no soccer scholarships will be awarded to these two :-)

However, they both had fun and loved it so that's a win!

These girlies wore their daddies' number from highschool.

Life is better on the boat!

(So, we have been having computer problems over here.  Like, major problems.  Apparently, our "hard drive crashed" and we've lost everything that was on it.  I'm personally just worried about all the pictures.  I can't even think about it.  Anyway, I'm blogging on Brent's work computer)

At the end of August we took a quick weekend trip up to Greer's Ferry Lake in Arkansas with the Archers and Koskos.  This is where Brent grew up vacationing each year.  For various reasons, this was my very first time to go and see what all the hype was about!!  Finally, 10+ years and I officially feel like a Hardin ;-)

A good time was had by all :-) Cliff jumping, tubing, hot dog riding, chips and sprites galore, even a ping pong tournament one night along with a kitten.  Oh yeah, and a boat with NO reverse.  The kids were in heaven.   Enjoy the pictures!

Hollins' First Day MMO (18 Months)

Oh Hollipop, WE LOVE YOU and your 18 month old self!!  Pretty sure this is my favorite age of all I've experienced yet :-)
You are so much fun and oh so sweet.  Your personality is really similar to Hampton at this age.  Very easy going and chill.  You are also very social (probably my most social at this age) and have loved school.  You go two days a week from 9-2 (but I always pick you up about 1:15 bc there is basically no chance they are getting you to nap there and I know you have to be tired...which is perfect, because I would rather you nap at home).  The first two days I dropped you off... you clung to me and cried when I left, but quit by the time I was out the second door :-)   After that you started walking right in and will give me a kiss bye.  I love your little brave self!
At 18mths:
wear a size two
size 5.5 shoe
started talking a bit more, still not a talker.  some words:  mama, daddy, ta-ta (thank you), Nene (for Nina),bye-bye, apple, help me, stop, up, woof (for dog), cluck (like a chicken)....probably a few more I can't remember.  Speech here we come??
Loves:  remote controls, outside, balls, baby dolls, pushing baby strollers, light switches, baths, school and her family
Dislikes:  TV....I can't really think of anything else besides being told no and when Hampton and AL bother her!
Mostly one nap a day for about 2 hours.  Bedtime 730p most nights and sleeps til 7-8am.
Favorite foods:  mandarin oranges, bowl of cheerios w/milk (just like big kids), pouches, strawberries, blueberries, butter beans, yogurt.
I just want to eat you with a spoon you are so snuggly and my favorite time is rocking before bed.  Every night, when I go to put you in bed you point to the rocker....I know you are just trying to delay bedtime but I am more than happy to spend a few extra minutes rocking and singing to you.  It's one of my favorite parts of the day.  You are the best baby in the world.  XOXO, Mama

Obligatory first day pics (however, my lens started out foggy).  Boo!

First Day of Kindergarten ~~ Round 2

August 4, 2017

Mom fail:  waited too long and couldn't schedule him a haircut until after the first day.

{Funny story I don't want to forget......His teacher gave us the book The Night Before Kindergarten to read and I was just going to skip it since we had done it before :-)  However, I started thinking that she might ask who read the book and I didn't want Hampton to feel left out so we read it.....and the last page had a little boy telling his teacher not to be sad because he was going to first grade but she was stuck in Kindergarten.  Brent was in there with me and I just tried to move on real quick but Hampton without missing a beat goes, "I really am stuck in Kindergarten."  Bless it!!}

Praying it is going to be the BEST year for our little guy!  So far, it has been!

First Day was a success!!

Summer Recap!!

June was a whirlwind (starting as soon as we got back from Pig Jam) and I'm not exaggerating.....We had an extra child 3 out of 4 weeks, basically a month of cousin camp!  My kids were in heaven and I was just a tad bit exhausted...but I wouldn't trade that special time for anything :-)

Lake for football camp...

 Wynn for baseball camp...

and Rose for Soccer camp!!

Soccer camp ended on Thursday and Saturday we headed to the beach for TEN days....we got back into town on July 4th (after spending the day in Hattiesburg)!

Time to catch our breath.....July was much more laid back and not much planned.  Hampton went to the lake with Phyl and Granddaddy for a couple of days.  He basically came back a teenager!  He also did a week at Camp Lake Stephens (just day camp) while Anne Lowry did a week of art camp at Studio Whimzy.   Sweet Hollins was along for it all , my little sidekick :-)  The rest of the time was just spent being lazy, watching tv, swimming, playing, play dates and lots of ice cream/Popsicle eating.

It was a full, fun Summer but I am one of those moms that look forward to school starting!! I am not ashamed!  Hampton actually started back August 4th and Hollins started her program today.  Anne Lowry does not start her Pre K4 program til after Labor Day (insert eye roll).
