Summer Recap!!

June was a whirlwind (starting as soon as we got back from Pig Jam) and I'm not exaggerating.....We had an extra child 3 out of 4 weeks, basically a month of cousin camp!  My kids were in heaven and I was just a tad bit exhausted...but I wouldn't trade that special time for anything :-)

Lake for football camp...

 Wynn for baseball camp...

and Rose for Soccer camp!!

Soccer camp ended on Thursday and Saturday we headed to the beach for TEN days....we got back into town on July 4th (after spending the day in Hattiesburg)!

Time to catch our breath.....July was much more laid back and not much planned.  Hampton went to the lake with Phyl and Granddaddy for a couple of days.  He basically came back a teenager!  He also did a week at Camp Lake Stephens (just day camp) while Anne Lowry did a week of art camp at Studio Whimzy.   Sweet Hollins was along for it all , my little sidekick :-)  The rest of the time was just spent being lazy, watching tv, swimming, playing, play dates and lots of ice cream/Popsicle eating.

It was a full, fun Summer but I am one of those moms that look forward to school starting!! I am not ashamed!  Hampton actually started back August 4th and Hollins started her program today.  Anne Lowry does not start her Pre K4 program til after Labor Day (insert eye roll).

A visit from the Tooth Fairy!

Hampton was so excited to finally lose a tooth!  He had been wiggling one for a little over a week....and then I noticed his permanent one was coming in behind his baby tooth.  So, a quick text to Aunt Cassey, DMD, and she said his baby tooth needed to come out "now."   I told Hampton.....and that kid did a few wiggles and then ripped the tooth out.  Both of our eyes got big as saucers, blood started pouring and I waited for the freak out :-)  Y'all.....his initial shocked reaction turned straight to pure joy and pride. And this Momma is just thankful that it was a bottom tooth....so he's still got his pretty, "baby" smile..... for a little while at least.

Of course, I had to document it with some pictures.

The tooth fairy got excited about his first tooth and bought him a golden coin, half dollar, 2 dollar bill, $5 and $1.  We also left a cup of water by the bed to see if the fairy would dip her wing in it to show her color (i have no clue where I got this idea from, but he LOVES it).  It turned green this time!

My {first} Baby is growing up!

**side note:  being tooth fairy is far trickier than Santa....digging around under someone's pillow while they sleep....who came up with that???

Deep Sea Fishing (Hamp's first time)

**Last beach post!

My Dad takes us deep sea fishing each Summer during our week at the beach.  I actually hadn't been in forever because I always stay behind and help with the little kids....but this year was the first trip for Hampton and Lake and I did not want to miss it!!  Hampton was nervous at first (typical) but I think you can tell from the pictures he ended up loving it.  Lake did too!  It was a great trip with a wonderful captain and deckhand...and bonus, nobody got sick!  So thankful for my dad and this experience!

early morning sunrise pictures...

thank goodness for coffee!

love this pic of my dad and his {grown up} babies....except the fact that he is wearing a MSU shirt.  pretty sure he was wearing it bc he knew it was going to get dirty :-)
