Vail Phone Pics

First plane ride for this sweet girl (she got a pretty sweet sunrise with it too).  Hampton's was at 4  months old.
Next flight delayed.....waking up at 3:30am is tough.

We just got back from a 5 night trip to Vail, Colorado.  Our good friends from Knoxville were going out there with their whole family and we decided to kind of piggy back onto their vacation.  We had our own place but got to hang out with them a good bit.  It was perfect (minus a few fights between Hampton and Anne Lowry......Miss Prissy Pants can throw an attitude with the best of them and Mr. Silly/Pester Pants can drive the most patient person crazy).  Feel I needed to throw that out there and keep it real, lest you think we are perfect....bahahaha :-)

Anyway, we had the best ski conditions with plenty of fresh powder and it wasn't crowded.  We never had to wait in a lift line until the very last day and even then it was minimal.  The kids loved ski school and were truly skiing by the last day and loving it.  That definitely made for some proud and excited parents!  They absolutely LOVED the snow, cold and everything that went along with it!

We sure did miss our Hollins, but I'm pretty sure she much preferred the one on one attention from her grandparents and the naps and bedtime in her own crib.  So thankful for our family.  I'll also go ahead and throw this out there because I may feel a twinge of guilt leaving Hollins out of these "family" trips.....but Hollins..... my promise to you (and you can refer back to this post) is that your dad and I will take you (and a FRIEND) on a trip anywhere (within reason and budget) you want to go once Hampton and Anne Lowry are out of the house (read: in college).  And that way you will at least be able to remember it!!  Because a one year old on a trip is kind of crazy, right?...seventeen seems more exciting and life giving.  Annnnd, you can thank me later!  We love you baby girl!!

Enjoy the pictures....I've got better ones on my phone that I will have to share too.

View from our room the first night.  Looks like rain, but it was snow!  We stayed at Bridge Street Lodge right in Vail Village and a few steps away from the gondola.

the above said snow :)

First morning and the heated streets of Vail

obviously, this side path wasn't heated!

waiting to get skis

Playing in the snow....we couldn't keep them out of the snow the whole week!

First day of ski school

This was a Pirate Ship Playground right out the back door of our condo and the kids LOVED it and could have played for hours.  We didn't have to pay for any extra entertainment (tubing, ice skating) the whole week because if we had extra time...they wanted to go play on the pirate ship :-)

It's the little icicles!

more ski school

I swear, that boy (dabbing, thanks Kindergarten).....

love him so!

my favorite tree in Vail....was so excited they still had most of their Christmas up.

my forever ski partner.

**side note:  I am working on this post while watching the Inauguration of Donald Trump.  I am truly excited and hopeful for the future of our Country.   May we all choose kindness over hate :-)

Carrollton Christmas

Santa came and we played with all our new toys, put together and added batteries to a lot, drank coffee, ate breakfast and then cleaned up a bit.  It was heavenly!  Around 130 we headed to Carrollton to celebrate with Brent's side of the family and spend the night.

My settings were off for the cousin pic :-(

Such sweet memories and a wonderful Christmas!
